Imagination:Space

That’s correct, no spaces.

For many years, I’ve had this rather odd habit of imagining things that would be something else simply because of its shape (and I still sometimes do today). I imagine a potential of that thing, then, in my imagination, I build a story and environment around it.

I’m being general because it’s not always the same story, but usually the same kind of environment. Ever since I played the game “Homeworld 2” (video), I’ve loved the idea of real time strategy games taking place in space, equipped with fully 3D navigation (and full camera movement and control). It saddens me that there are almost none of these types of games and usually have to resort to modifications of “Homeworld 2” (purposely open for such modifications).

I came across a game development tool called Unity3D a long time ago, and only stumbled upon it again recently (when I was reorganizing my bookmarks). When I saw it, I suddenly began remembering what I’ve imagined in the past relating to “space” environments.

A couple of weeks passed by, and I’ve compiled a good brainstorm web for the game, with one major key feature: the combination of both reality and imagination. In a rather literal sense. I’d elaborate more, but I’d like to see how far I can go with this game first, using Unity3D.
